Fairburn , GA- Mernel (nee White) Salmon, 73, entered into eternal life on Monday, June 5, 2023 at Townhouse Center in Uniondale, NY peacefully in her sleep. Born in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica West Indies, daughter of the late Headley N. and Millicent (nee Smalling) White. She migrated to the United States and resided in Port Washington, NY.

Mernel was a graduate of Middle Quarters Primary School, in Middle Quarters, Jamaica, WI. She was a certified nursing aid and moved to the United States.

Mernel enjoyed doing word puzzles, crocheting and reading the Bible. Her favorite pastime was spending quality time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Mernel was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald B. Salmon in August 7th 2004; and her parents.

Mernel is survived by five loving children, Sharon Watson and her husband Errol of Oxnard, CA, Angela Landrieu and her husband Scott of Old Bridge, NJ, Anthony Barrett and wife Chalene of Hempstead NY, Donovon Robertson and wife Jennifer of Fayetteville GA and Victoria Salmon of Wheatley Heights, NY. She will be deeply missed by her dear siblings, Naris, Ionie, Dalton, Loreen, Eveth, Michael, Easton, Merrick and AnnMarie ; and nine cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Olivia, Morganne, Michelle, Kavon Jr, Jayden, Jaylen, Melissa and Jacob and two great grandchildren: Kruz and Jayla.
