Obituary

Joseph Harold Magrane, 61, died March 1, 2023, at his home in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. He was born September 30, 1961, in Garden City, New York, the eldest son of the late Joseph C. Magrane and Diane (Banvard) Magrane, formerly of North Bellmore, NY. Joe graduated from W.C. Mepham High School in 1979, earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Hofstra University in 1983, and an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology in 1989. He went on to follow in his father’s footsteps and became a Nassau County Police Officer in 1993, attaining the rank of Deputy Inspector before retiring in 2015. Joe is survived by his mother, Diane Magrane; brothers, Glen (Joanna) Magrane and Kevin Magrane; and eight nephews and nieces, who were very special to him. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph C. Magrane. Family will receive friends Tuesday, 2-4 pm and 6-9 pm, at the Charles J. O’Shea Funeral Homes, 603 Wantagh Ave. (Exit 28N SS PKWY) Wantagh, NY. A Religious Service will be held Tuesday, 7 pm, at the funeral home.
