Mary Catherine Sullivan Klauer of Naples, Florida. Passed away on March 27, 2023,. in her 72nd year. Beloved daughter of the late Dennis Sullivan and of the late Jeanette O'Neil Sullivan. Loving wife of Dennis Klauer. Dear sister of William Sullivan, Edward Sullivan, Eileen Carey and her husband Thomas, the late Dennis Sullivan, the late Lawrence Sullivan and the late John Sullivan. Fond stepmother of Jennifer and her children, Grace and Michael. Mary grew up in Lindenhurst, New York and attended St. Joseph Academy on Long Island. Graduated Summa Cum Laude from Adelphi University, Garden City, New York and Summa Cum Laude from Cleveland Marshall Collage of Law, and went on to work as a lawyer for the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C. Mary retired as head Counsel for the Department of Defense in Oahu, Hawaii. She was an accomplished artist, and avid gardener, and loved to travel. She was also dedicated to tracing the family tree of her Irish heritage and relations with extended family in county Cork Ireland. Mary was always interested and supportive of her family on Long Island and in Newport, Rhode Island. She took a loving interest in the lives of her siblings, cousins, and many nieces and nephews. Beloved by her family and friends, her loss is deeply felt. Mary will always be remembered by her beautiful smile, easy laugh, and gentle heart. A memorial mass will be held at St. Mary's R.C.
