Worked with Fred in O/U from the late 70’s to 1985 when I retired.Always the perfect gentleman.He was just so cool as far as the JOB went. We had a pretty good bunch of guys back then. Rest in Peace my friend.Will always cherish your friendship..Ken Michel Class of June 1965

I am so sorry to hear of Fred's passing. We worked together many years ago in the Operations Unit. It was an honor and a pleasure to have known him. He was truly a real good guy. The Executive Board and members of the NYC Retired Transit Police Officers Association extend our deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to the Santarpia family. Fred was well liked by all who knew and worked with him both on the job and at St. Francis Hospital where he worked with many fellow Transit Police retirees. May Fred Rest in Peace and may the Good Lord watch over and help to ease the family in their time of grieving.
