The midnights in the prison aka the o/u were made tolerable by my nightly talks with fred. What a great guy, always smiling or laughing. The world needs more men like this, rest now fred, you deserve being with the angels.

What a pleasure it was working with and talking to Fred. He was a true easy going gentleman who got along with everyone. Working at Jay St. was better because of his presence. Fred, you will be missed.

The Executive Board and members of the NYC Retired Transit Police Officers Association extend our deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to the Santarpia family. Fred was well liked by all who knew and worked with him both on the job and at St. Francis Hospital where he worked with many fellow Transit Police retirees. May Fred Rest in Peace and may the Good Lord watch over and help to ease the family in their time of grieving.
