Nicholas Picariello, Levittown, NY on November 4, 2022 at the age of 85. Born in Brooklyn May 11, 1937, Nicholas was predeceased by his parents Generoso and Maria Picariello and sister Louise Farrugia (Louis). Beloved and devoted husband for 65 years to his wife Patrica(née Boyle), loving father to Joesph Picariello and Maria Rodgers (Richard). Affectionately known as Poppy, he was cherished by his 3 grandchildren, Nicole Hartmann (Vincent), Garrett Rodgers (Shelby), Austin Rodgers and his great-grandson Matteo Hartmann, along with his numerous nieces and nephews. Nicholas learned to play the accordion at an early age and enjoyed playing in his later years. The owner of Farmers Bazaar, Nicholas built a corner fruit stand into a 3 store grocery chain. An avid thoroughbred enthusiast, Nicholas turned his passion to ownership and achieved the dream of winning the Bed of Roses at Aqueduct Racetrack in 1979, with Lady Lonsdale. Nicholas was an avid Yankees fan, he loved cooking while listening to Italian music or Opera and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his fairness and unlimited generosity and will be greatly missed by all that had the opportunity to know him.
