Obituary

Vincenzo Armando D'Accordo (Jimmy) of West Babylon, NY passed peacefully on August 10, 2022. Born on March 31, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY to Anna and Armando D'Accordo, he spent most of his life in Brooklyn, where he fell in love with his wife of 66 years, Vincenza (Dolly) DeLuca. Jimmy and Dolly moved to West Babylon in 1997. Jimmy is a US Army Veteran, member of the Knights of Columbus and Sons of Italy, and proudly served as a member of the FDNY, retiring as a Lieutenant. He was an avid sports fan watching every Mets, Rangers and Giants game possible. He loved to play cards, sing, talk about his Italian heritage and upbringing, and to always have a good laugh. What he loved most, aside from his Dolly, was his family and he let every member know it. He is pre-deceased by both of his parents (Anna and Armando D'Accordo) and in-laws (Eleanora and Carlo DeLuca), as well as his sister Theresa Engel Rescigno (Jule Engel and Peter Rescigno), brother Settimio (Patricia) D'Accordo, and sister Susan (Nick) Zappola. He is survived by his wife Dolly; his siblings Josephine Mahan (Mike), Nancy Galante (Izzy) and Armand D'Accordo (Cindy); brother in law Tony DeLuca and his Aunt Nancy Capaccio. He leaves behind his children; Armando (Barbara) D'Accordo; daughter Anna (John) Fitzpatrick; his grandchildren Vincent (Cristen) D'Accordo, Cristine (Rob) Schlener and James Fitzpatrick; his great grandchildren Vince, Frankie and Sophia; and countless cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. He will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers please donate to the FDNY foundation or End Alzheimers (alz.org)
