I have known Jimmy for more than 40 years. He was a best friend & a younger brother to me. We had so many adventures together that I wouldn't know were to start in describing him.
One day, I planned to tow my son, who was 6 or 7 yrs old at the time, on an inflatable Jetski, behind my boat. Jimmy nicely volunteered to demo the jetski for my son who was a little scared. After a misunderstanding about the signals to use for faster or slower, I increased the speed when Jimmy wanted the opposite. At one point, we crossed the wakes of a party boat & Jimmy became airborne, like a kite behind the boat. Seeing this, I came to a sudden stop, so Jimmy still hugging the inflatable from 15’ up in the air dove into the water. I rushed to pull on the line & bring him to the transom. Thank God for his strong build, as Jimmy was ok. The image of his face when he came onboard with his bathing suit half mast is still engraved in my head & we laughed all the way back to the boat slip with a nice drink in hand. My son never went on that new inflatable, & in some ways Jimmy saved my son's life while providing a memory I won't soon forget. I'll truly miss my friend Jimmy!

Living across the Canal from Jimmy was always interesting. He was never not in motion, blowing, building, trimming, painting etc. I once told him you are my ant farm. While I am lazy I watch you move all around your yard making and keeping it beautiful. Jimmy would always call over to me about something he observed. Like my family and only my family he called me Jonny. RIP my king of all ants. You moved mountains and moved people too.

Our hearts go out to all who knew and loved Jimmy. To know him was to love him. He was bigger than life, and so greatly filled a beautiful part of our lives. We will miss him dearly, for his love of life, his exuberance, and the joy he had when he was sharing his life with others. He was someone who found that joy in the sharing of it with his loved ones. He could not see, feel or taste something wonderful without running to share it with someone he loved.
He once told me, when he had invited me to go clamming with him; “Vincent, this is my church. In this beautiful setting, unspoiled by man, is where I find closeness with God, and speak to him intimately. Thank you for sharing it with me”.
Right now, our beloved Jimmy is experiencing unspeakable joy, and I am sure that he cannot wait to share it with us when we pass from this side of eternity to the other.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that "whosoever" believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Jimmy is a "whosoever". He told me personally that he believed that Jesus Christ went to the cross for his sins and rose again. When that rock flew away from His tomb on Resurrection Sunday, he defeated death for all who would only Believe.
And so, this is a description from the word of God of the unimaginable joy that Jimmy is experiencing right now;
1 Corinthians 2:9
However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” the things God has prepared for those who love him—
2 Corinthians 12:4
How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
Revelation 21:4
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Luke 23:43
Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”
Revelation 22:1-4
Eden Restored
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb down the middle of the great street of the city. On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.
Revelation 21:21
The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.
Who of us cannot imagine, when we go home to be with the Lord, a wide eyed, exuberant Jimmy, who can't wait to show us around?
Until we see each other again, our beloved and dearest friend,
Vincent & Susan Scuderi
The Gospel
1 Corinthians 15:1-4
The Resurrection of Christ
Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of The Gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
