Tom was the best Ice cream man ever, taking over Chics truck and was a staple in our community for years! He would let me run a tab if I was at a friends house and didn’t have money on me and let my dad settle up later on. One time I was at Woodland middle school heading over to the fields for baseball practice and he was set up outside the fence of the baseball field and he had a solid line formed. He spotted me out amongst my teammates and yelled out “hey Michael! Want a chipwhich?” I said “no thanks Tom!” As every kid on that line looked at me like I was a celebrity because the ice cream man knew my name! Haha! Tom, Karen and Chic were great people and I will never forget them being a part of my neighborhood and childhood!! Rest In Peace Tom, save me a chipwhich for when I get up there!
