Bill Collins posted a condolence

I still cannot believe this is real, this is Johnny’s cousin Bill, I just found this today. I was looking for information on uncle Bernard who was a great man, I wanted to find out what happened to him. Then this popped up, I said no way, then I saw the picture and just stared at it crying still cannot believe it.Johnny was the man,I looked up to him and he helped me so much growing up and beyond in life. We were very close at times and then we were not. Johnny and me talked about this one time he told me it’s the Collins way to let a small disagreement fester and turn into something worse. It happened between him and me, I cannot even remember what it was about I am sure it nothing important. I regret it so much, I loved Johnny he was the older brother I did not have. Back in the day we had family gathering’s that everyone showed up for. We had one at the Acer’s house garbage cans filled with beer and soda lawn chairs on front lawn. We were playing football on the street. I was on Johnny’s team he told me to go run into the puddle and stop. He said the Acer’s boys won’t get their shoes wet they will get into trouble. Haha Sure enough he was right. Then when Uncle Eddy drove up with that Dodge Dart man we had so much fun with him. That little pond in front of their house I loved that and the blue heron that he made was beautiful. Actually Johnny and Marthe set a blind date for me on Memorial Day weekend to met someone. It was a pretty good date because I ended up marrying her. But during that night I was talking to her and being Johnny he came around the corner with a video camera and you can hear him saying “my cousin is actually talking to a woman.”Haha I still love that. I really wish we stayed close, the four of us used to go out together we all got along and had so much fun. Marthe I am so sorry about Johnny I know it’s going to be terrible but you have to try to stay strong and you have plenty of great friends and family to help you get through this time. As everyone has been saying Johnny was a great man, definitely life of the party, man could he tell a story and make you laugh. Actually looking at that picture I was just waiting for him to smile, it looks like he was about to smile. What I will remember about Johnny is how he made my life better just being around him. I wish i spent so much more time with Johnny and Marthe but that’s life some good some bad. I will always remember your smile and your kind words when I was looking for your advice. Thanks for your help in my life Johnny I always looked up to you. I can say I loved my cousin Johnny, I know you would have something to say about that.Haha thx buddy, see you soon.

My condolences to "Uncle" John and his family and to Aunt Marthe. Johnny was my favorite Uncle - he was always there for me for better or worse. Thank you Johnny. Dear Aunt Marthe - I am truly sorry for your loss - especially after just losing your sister, Barbara, my mother. All I can say is that they are reunited, as Johnny will make all of heaven laugh with his unique sense of humor. God bless him and mommy.

In the few times I met John, he was a very pleased, funny, helpful person. I truly enjoyed talking and getting to know him. I'm sincerely sorry for everyone's lose. I wish I would have gotten to know him better. The world is a little less bright without him in it.

We are so saddened by the untimely passing of our dear friend John. He was one of kind and always the life of the party. John was always there when you needed him. He would give a stranger the shirt off his back. No one could tell a story like John. He was so funny with his humor and that big beautiful smile he had. May John rest in the sweetest of peace. We will miss everything about him.All our love Warren & Jayne Bell.

Our Deepest Sympathy Marthe for the loss of your forever love, my brother Johnnie.
I remember Johnnie saying that he met the girl that he wants to be with for the rest of his life.
How do we thank someone who loved us so, so very, very much?
Johnnie, dearest brother and Keenan's uncle, our journey through life with you in it made it super happy and awesome; an adventure of what life should be for everyone. You are truly honored and special and so full of fun and incredible love, and a symbol of what Jesus would love all of us to be. Every day I will remember things we did; so every day for the rest of our lives, me and Keenan will remember you. From laughing, dancing, family fun, you carrying me home about 8 blocks because I hurt my foot and couldn't walk, tai chi moves for us to do to protect us, ice skating even on the streets of Brooklyn in the middle of the night, concerts, like the Grateful Dead; parties that you saw we shouldn't be at and I would say that I don't feel well, so you would volunteer to take me home to get out of there, clubs, the beach - like we loved to stay as long as possible at and the police, becauseof a storm coming, told us to go home, buying things together especially the latest clothes, villege fun and getting really nicely made beads and bells, songs (mostly Beatles), singing and playing the guitar with Keenan, all the sites we seen in NYC and sites you took Keenan to see and all the fun we had there and in CT and VA with you and Marthe too. I know everyone who knew my brother, Johnnie, loved him for his pure of heart. Marthe, you are a great reader and writer. I hope you will write all the adventures that you and Johnnie had together; for I know that it will be the best selling book ever to be read and enjoyed by the world. Loving you always with our broken hearts --- my home is open to you forever, Clare and Keenan xxx
