Gus was the head elder for most of the time that I was pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church. His faith was a solid foundation for his life, and I could always rely on him for counsel and prayer. He always enhanced our Christmas celebrations by leading the German language service and playing the role of St. Nicholas for the children. God's perpetual light shine on him for the way that he shined the light of his Savior on earth. God's peace to his family and the family of Calvary Lutheran.
