I am without words for the passing of my great friend and brother Michael J. Burke. I'd
like to express my deepest condolences and sympathies to his family! He shall be forever missed.
I was fortunate enough to come up to Long Island, New York and visit him last year after many years have gone by. I spoke briefly to his sister Terry in 2019. Mikes brother John and I got together for a short time in July of 2002.
I learned about his passing when I went out to visit him and his daughter. I had just arrived October 16th, 2020 from Clearwater, Florida. I was wondering why I was getting looked at in a curious way from the maintenance man at his apartment complex. The gentleman told me the terrible news and I almost fell over with disbelief and grief.
I was fortunate enough to know such a good hearted soul. Mike and his siblings, John and Terry Burke knew me back in the early 80's. I shared some fond memories with them, along with some of their older friends Dave Haug and Way no. We all shared a commonality between one another and that was the love and admiration for the Beatles and what they stood for,.... Peace!
I remember going to John Lennons vigil in Central Park, New York, NY. A tragic ending for a spiritual being.
To the Burkes father, Mike senior....God bless you! Hopefully your son reunited with your father. AMEN.

I will always remember Mike's intensity. When we were younger, I was entirely intimidated by him. He lived on the edge; else he'd take up too much room! As the years passed, time softened his tough exterior and I was so blessed to know his intensity remained but now in his love for others. He epitomized love. He told me frequently that love was the most important thing. He loved very passionately and never has anyone made me actually FEEL loved. I will forever miss you, Mike; you take a piece of my heart with you. I have no doubt where you are and I am so happy for you and that your pain has come to an end...this world is so empty without you and the love you had for everyone and every thing. You teach us all what embracing life and the moment is all about. I so look forward to seeing you again, my friend. Save me a seat next to Jesus.
My most sincerest condolences to the entire Burke family and I pray for the comforting arms of our Lord to be around you all at this difficult time. I love you all.
