Obituary
Kevin Tubridy passed away peacefully at home on June 10, 2020 at the age of 98, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in 1921 in Yonkers, NY, where he resided for the next 18 years. During that time, he attended St. Barnabas Elementary School and then, on scholarship, Regis High School in New York City. He enrolled at Manhattan College in 1939 receiving his BA in 1943. He graduated “in absentia” as he was called into military service two months earlier. He spent the next two and a half years with the US Army Air Force in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations.
After discharge from service in September of 1945 Kevin took post-graduate courses at Pace College. He worked the next 40 years with Allied Stores at their Gertz, Sterns and Macy’s divisions. That was his only employment, retiring in 1986 as Vice President for Personnel.
Kevin maintained his connection to Regis High School for over 35 years as the Class of 1939 representative and dedicated fundraiser.
He was an active parishioner at St Frances De Chantal Church as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus in Bellmore.
Kevin is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Elaine Baird Tubridy, living most of their life in Wantagh, NY. Survivors include his three sons, Kevin G. Tubridy, Weston, MA; Gary S. Tubridy (Erica), Vero Beach, FL and Brian R. Tubridy, (Mary Jane), Wantagh, NY; grandchildren, Laura
Sudan (Derek), New York, NY; Elizabeth Tubridy (Jonathan Peters), New York, NY;
Catherine Tubridy, New York, NY. Also surviving Kevin is his great grandchild, Kevin Sudan, New York, NY.
We will forever miss his sense of humor, good nature and devotion to family.
