"Aunt" Anita was beloved by all her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces (even the ones who weren't related but still called her Aunt Anita) all her friends and neighbors, both on Long Island and Queens. We will all miss her and each one of us has our own fond memory and funny Aunt Anita story from family gatherings. She was a funny lady who enjoyed a good laugh and loved talking to people. May she Rest in Peace in Heaven with Uncle Red and her famous Sisters. Heaven is a little louder but they are all together catching up!

The memories I have of my Godmother, my Aunt Anita, are many and oh so sweet. She always had a way to make me feel very special and very much loved. Spending weeks with them and my cousins at their house during the summer are some of my fondest memories, she taught me how to iron!! Lol. My sweet Aunt Anita you can now be forever happy with your true love, Uncle Patsy. Enjoy heaven with all of the angels of our families including my Mom. I will love you forever & God Bless you always.

Dear Aunt Anita,
How do I begin? Who's going to fold my laundry or wash my dishes? We spent so many good times together, going to church, shopping and out to eat. I enjoyed every moment with you. Even the arguments. Who keeps a tuna fish sandwich in their pocketbook? You were more than an Aunt to me, you were my other Mother. Christmas Eve will never be the same. My only comfort is knowing you are with Uncle Red now. Rest in peace my beloved Aunt. Love you and Miss you Doreen

I never thought I would have to write one of these any time soon but I guess the day has come. Some people don’t understand the horrors of this virus until you or a loved one is affected by it. I was one of those people. Back in March I was fully in denial that this virus was actually deathly until I soon realized how bad it had become and one of my loved ones contracted it. My great aunt who lives in a nursing home suddenly contracted it with others in her unit. Weeks went on and she was suddenly the worst in the unit. This is how we had to say goodbye. Knowing it was going to be the last goodbye, all through a window. Seeing things I didn’t wish to see, through a piece of glass with a man next to her in gloves, double masked and a full body covered suit. I could feel her suffering through the window and I couldn’t watch anymore, just tired and not herself. You may have been my great aunt but you truly were a grandmother to me, you knew I lost my other grandmothers when I was at a young age so you filled that spot. You treated me no different than any of your grandkids. Your beautiful soul will dearly be missed and I will miss visiting you and all of your cooking. I just want people to be aware of how dangerous this virus is and how different it is when you lose someone from this virus. It takes people from you so suddenly, people that you will never be able to have back ever again, so please stay safe, healthy and stay home. We all love you so much❤️

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Anita. She's been like an aunt to me since the day I was born. She was kind, funny, loving and we loved her so much. There will be a big void for us now, but I take comfort in knowing she is with everyone who loved her that passed before her. Rest in peace Anita, we will always love you.

I am heartbroken over your family's loss (and mine). I have known and loved you, Anita, for more years than I can believe. I am sure my mother was very excited over being reunited with her best friend. The world has lost another fabulous person. I will miss you always.

Anita will ALWAYS be remembered by the Rivadeneyra Family! We were honored to know her, and celebrate with her, throughout the almost 40 years after our brother (uncle) Michael married Patricia Levi (DiGennaro). Our families blended together beautifully! Anita's smiling face and heartfelt welcomes when we'd reunite for holidays, and many other celebratory events, will never be forgotten. We truly enjoyed her genuine, kind spirit, high pitched laughter and the warmth she shared with all!. We are all very saddened by her passing; we will miss Anita very much! We pray for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they grieve the loss of their precious mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; they were the center part of her heart and soul. Rest in Peace beloved Anita! With ALL our love and condolences ~ Mary, Richard, Angela, Ryan and Angel Danny Rivadeneyra
