We remember attending a party at Mike and Suzanne's home for Melissa (Barney was there) We had a nice conversation with Mrs May we told her that we moved all the way to Sound Beach where we purchased a house. She was a very good listener and conversationalist. She shared with us the fact that it will be hard to make friends at first in a new neighborhood .She told us it would be much easier once we had kids and of course it was true. We realize what great parents Betty and John were.
God bless you Mrs. May

Kathleen & Brian, Deege and Cara,
I will forever remember your Mom sitting in the cold stands at Siena or some other lacrosse stadium cheering on the granddaughters she was undoubtedly so very proud of. During those days many of us had parents who were getting along in age, and I am sure we were not the only ones a little envious that your Mom made such a huge effort to be part of our love watching the girls at Siena.....win or lose....
Please allow such great memories replace your feelings of pain and loss....I speak for your Siena lax family and say your family was an inspiration to all and our prayers are so very much with you!!
God Bless you all,!!!
Maggie, Kate and Jim Deloria
Proud Siena family members

Kathleen and Brian -
We were saddened to hear about your mom’s passing and send our most sincere condolences to you and your family during this difficult and crazy time. Please let us raise a glass and offer an Irish toast to your mom:
“Those we love don’t do away.
They walk beside us every day.
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear. “
Keep the faith.

Mrs. May “Betty” was the mom of my closest friend Tricia. Quite often we’d sit at her kitchen table and chat. She always had a joke, quip or something else to say that made me laugh. Betty was always warm, welcoming and witty. I’m sure she’ll be cracking folks up in heaven!

I will always have a special place in my heart for Mrs. May. In my early years on Ramona St., she was like a second mother to me - her home, my second home. I loved her humor and quick wit!! My personal memories: driving the Comet station wagon without power steering and making a left turn at the corner to drop all the neighborhood kids off at school when it rained. I can still hear the “ thump thump thump” as she fought with the steering wheel to turn left!!
Tricia and I wanted to camp in the yard in a tent. Mrs May tied a roll of toilet paper to the tree and placed a bucket there for middle of the night use!!!
I will always smile whenever I think of one of the many “Bettyisms” that she would share with a smile and a laugh.
God bless you and keep you Mrs. May.
Prayers, love and support to the entire family. She will be missed!
Love, Donna(Vassas) Conlin and family
