I was sorry to hear about the passing of Mr Blatchley. I heard from a former colleague of his and former teacher of mine from Calhoun High School, that I am still friends with. I knew Mr Blatchley from 1976-1977. I did not have him as a teacher but we struck up a conversation one time. He used to stand outside his classroom as students filtered in, between periods and before the bell rung. We started talking about ice hockey and from that we had many conversations over that time period, until my graduation. I am so sorry for your loss but be comforted by knowing he was very well liked by his former students. I posted his passing on the school FaceBook page and there were many former students who posted their great memories about him and their condolences.
