Im deeply saddened about Dennis. I just found out. My heartfelt condolences to everyone in his family: Agnes, Liz, Kathy, Jimmy. And everyone else.
Dennis and I go back to the 60's when his family moved to Levittown and the boys on the block began his initiation into the Slate Lane Gang. He passed with flying colors!! There were some tough days but when he flipped Billy onto his back at one of the requisite wrestling matches that was it! The look on Billy's face (God rest his soul).....priceless!
Lots of long morning schoolwalks (2 miles) to LMHS. Going in to NYC to the Fillmore. Working together at King George then over to TSS Patio Receiving...loading trucks. Goofing around. Dennis and I knew we were heading for better places.
The 70's were college bound and although we traveled in different circles we kept in touch. We ended up summer jobbing at Ideal Fence in Bethpage....college boys loading trucks (again!!) Our go to was Michelob because we knew we were headed for better places.
1978 was the year Kathy Daley and I married. Dennis was our Best Man.
The 80's found us both working in NYC living the dream. Catching up over a lunch or quick Michelob...Oyster Bar...Mr Chows, Grand Central Skylight Bar. Dennis liked the Brooks Brothers store by Mad and 44th.
I moved to FL with my family in the 90's and we lost touch but every once in a while I would be in the NY area and pop in on Dennis at good old #36 and bring a six of Michelob. We would reminisce about it all...then go on to make fun of everyone including ourselves.
Dennis' wit and positive attitude were a constant. His integrity and faith in God were instinctive. (Credit to Jimmy Sr. and Ann)....Good ingredients for a lifelong friend!
RIP my friend. I will miss you for the rest of my life,
Tom and Kathy McCabe

We were always happy to see Dennis at the family functions in Philadelphia. He was a fascinating man who always spoke eloquently, and demonstrated a devotion to Aggie. Even when ill he showed a remarkable determination to keep everything in perspective. His gentle presence will be missed.
We are so sorry for your loss.

To Aggie and Family:
Our very sincerest condolences to all of you. We were so grateful to have had an unofficial reunion with Dennis and Aggie this past Spring. We were all proud of Dennis, bravely facing a very tough final challenge.
I can still remember, even in the midst of all the new freedoms that come at college, Dennis was religious, attending Mass. Now we have our best memories and he has peace from his struggle.
Bob and Janet Kmetz, SLU '75

Michael, Denis, and I have many fond memories of times spent with Dennis at family weddings, at his parents' home, and our apartment in Manhattan. We'd laugh at his many experiences on Madison Avenue, and in later years he visited us frequently in Florida. His "Uncle Michael" didn't hesitate when it was time to choose a godfather for our son Denis! Dennis was a kind-hearted man, who always placed his family first in his life, and he will be greatly missed. These pics from his baby brother's wedding in 1997 reflect the good times we shared.
We know he is teasing his parents Anne and Jimmy in heaven, and seeing all those you passed on before him. Rest in Peace Dennis.
Love Aunt Connie

I will always remember my Uncle Dennis' infectious laugh. He had an amazing ability to light up a room with his smile and warm personality. Dennis was a fantastic story teller, and always a source of great conversation due to his vast interests and hobbies.
Thank you to all of those who stuck by his side and took care of him through these difficult last few years. He will be greatly missed and fondly remembered.

I worked with Dennis for several years, and we remained friends after my retirement in 2003. He was an excellent account executive at CBS Television. He had a wonderful work ethic, and loved the advertising and television sales business. He always had an optimistic attitude in anything he did. He was very dedicated to his church. He loved distance running, and since that was my hobby, we had a lot in common. He was very devoted to his wife and her son. I am sure there is a place for him in heaven, and his spirit will remain with us forever.Rest in peace my friend.
