Ellen Savitsky and George Neamonitis and their families posted a condolence
Sunday, March 3, 2019
Lillian, or Lily as she was known by many, was born on August 23, 1934 to Nicholas Pachnos and Nelda Liva Pachnos in Brooklyn, NY. She had two brothers, Michael and George, who she loved dearly. Her family lived on 19th street in Brooklyn above her father's fruit store until she married James Neamonitis in 1953 when she was only 19 years old. They were married for the next 55 years until James passed away in 2008. Her first born son Michael tragically died during a hernia operation before his first birthday. She later had a daughter Ellen and a son George who she devoted her life to. Lily was a hard worker and stepped in to help support her family along side her husband when times were difficult. Her children married and she welcomed Dennis and Mary Lou into the family and was later blessed with six grandchildren. She enjoyed them all and made many great memories with Jessica, James, Melanie, Emily, Marisa and Philip. More recently she loved spending time with her great grandchildren Peyton and Theodore. Lily had many dear friends from all the places she lived and worked and enjoyed and loved them all.
Lillian's given name Eutixia, pronounced Ef-ti-heea, truly described her personality. She was a very happy and joyful person who made friends easily wherever she went. She was an eternal optimist always seeing the glass as half full, finding the good in everyone and overlooking their faults. She was accepting of all and never judged. In the true spirit of Christianity, she was extremely forgiving and loving as demonstrated by her devotion to and loyalty for those that needed her help in the most difficult situations.
She enjoyed traveling, photography, greek dancing and of course her sweets, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved her heritage and took pride in passing on many of the Greek traditions she was raised with.
Lily will forever be in our hearts and provide us with an excellent model of how to live our lives to the fullest and a guide to being forgiving and loving...

May you Rest In Peace and be reunited with those who came before welcoming you home and embracing you with loving arms saying “we’ve missed you”. I know I will. Always in my heart and when I see a biscotti. xoxo
