Maleen was fantastic! As a child my family and Maleen's family spent holidays together. We are 1st cousins to the McCann family. They say cousins are your first and forever friends. This is so true and I am blessed with awesome memories! I can't be there in person to see Maleen off to her next journey, or to see her brothers, but I am praying for all of you. Maleen's life will be remembered for many years to come!❤❤
Love you all, Anne Givens

I first knew her as, “Aunt Maleen.” She was one of my mother’s best friends. She left an indelible mark on my memories of my childhood on Long Island, and for many years later. In October of 2017 I was in NYC on business and I had a free evening, so I met up with Maleen for dinner in Point Lookout. I’m very glad that I made that effort. Maleen will be missed.

“Auntie Maleen” as we called her was the dearest childhood friend to my mother, Lynne Christine McCauley (d. 1998, formerly of Point Lookout). Yet, even after my mother’s passing, Maleen kept in touch with me, my children, and my brother Jude. Every year without fail, she would send us chocolates for Christmas. What a lovely, lovely human being. I would gather the kids around before we would open her package “all the way from New York!” and I would share stories of our visits each summer to Point Lookout. Storied visits to Peter’s Clam Bar and late nights out with Mom and Maleen, always with a Tab! You know what else? On the card she tucked inside, she was sure to list every one of my children by name, all five of them—every Christmas. A truer friend could not be found. God Rest Her Soul. Sending our love from South Bend, IN. Thank you dear Maleen❤️❤️❤️

Many years ago I was welcomed into Maleen's home many times; it was always a joyful experience to share a brew and laughter with Maleen and her brothers and friends. I have often thought of them all, but of none as fondly as I have of Maleen. She brought joy to everyone!
