I remember the time you told me Doug and I would probably not make it as a couple since we were so opposite. I knew you were wrong and here we are some 37 years later.... !!! It was an honor to have you as a mother in law for 35 years. You taught me so many things I never knew. How to make a holiday dinner, how to make gravy, candied yams. Harvard beets, creamed onions etc. (even though you hated to cook). With your Passed down heirloom dishes and glasses and I learned How to set a beautiful table. What???!!!change out your tchotchkes with the seasons,,,, what??!!!We shared the good times and laughed thru the hard times. We got through them with a sense of humor and lots of laughs. You enjoyed your life with Dad traveling all over. What friends you met along the way. So fortunate to have found Dick at such a midpoint in your life. He was your soulmate and we soon learned what a great grandfather he would also become. Life is not fair cutting that love short but oh the memories we all have. You never intended to go this way I know but we got 4 additional years with you around. It may not have been what you had hoped the end would be but we take solace in knowing the dementia prevented the true comprehension of that fact. You did know us all the last time we were together. We will share that memory into eternity.
As we watched you fade away and take those last breaths, we were so very happy that you would soon go on to join all that went before you and could finally dance again in the kingdom of God. Love you always your 2nd daughter Ellen
