I can only say great things about Cookie. Wonderful man and friend to everyone he met. He was a great joy every time he came to Waterbury to work on one of his projects. All of us learned a lot from him and he had no shortage of words .
I don’t think I ever met a guy that had his special kind of humor. He loved being with the “boys” and we went to many lunches together. That was very special.
Thanks for the memories.
Best to you
Rich, Ron and Jerry

I asked Cook if he felt strong and he replied that he could “ Lift a thought”.

I’m sorry to hear of Cookie’s passing. My earliest remembrance of Cookie was during the Traffic Control Program at the Sperry Gyroscope Co. It was May 19, 1967, my birthday. A few of the girls brought in a small birthday cake and we were having coffee……Cookie was passing through the office, stopped and asked who’s birthday? I said mine….he asked how old? I said 26 years old today. He then grabbed a pen and wrote down the number 46 on a pad and said that’s how old I am! ..... I soon learned that he grew up in the Red Hook section in Brooklyn which wasn’t too far from the Bushwick section where I grew up.
Over the years at Sperry, Cookie was always the life of the party at any of the luncheon or dinner affairs that many of us attended. Always had a funny story to tell and loved to joke around. During more recent times, I would meet Cookie at the Sperry Retirement Luncheon Group on Fridays and listen to the many stories he had during his time at Sperry and of his experiences during WWII. All of us in attendance were proud of him for his contribution and sacrifice. He will be missed. Rest in Peace.

I was dating Frank Cucurullo back in early 1980's when we met at Cuyahoga Valley National Park (located in Ohio) as park ranger. Frank always spoke fondly of his father, sharing his conversations, stories and especially jokes!
I was fortunate to finally meet "Cookie" that I had heard so much about when visiting Frank's family for the first time. I was born in California, and meeting his family was making me nervous, on all kinds of levels. Frank flew to NY a few days before me. I distinctly remember Frank and his dad walking towards me as I was heading off the plane at the airport, both of them with big smiles. His father was so friendly and nice to me, and I felt completely at ease....whew!
If you knew anything about Cookie, you knew how his experience as an Army Sargent had such a big impact in his life. He told stories about WWII just about every time I saw him. His love for his country was evident. My son David enlisted in the Navy, and about two years ago, we drove up to NY to see Cook. David in full uniform to see his grandfather. Cook, at one point, got up was gone for a few minutes, and returned to the family room/dining room in his "uniform” Pictures were taken and you could see the pride in the two veterans.
I have known Cookie for most of my life, he was always supportive in every decision that Frank and I made (usually saying "Oh that is terrific!"), loved our children, and continued to care for our family after Frank's passing.
My daughter Anna and I went to see Cook and say our goodbyes a few weeks ago. He was still funny and his personality was there, although he was extremely tired. We will miss him terribly, but what a great Father-in-law, Grandfather, Father and person. Rest in peace
