Obituary of Robert Dienst
Mr. Dienst was born September 26, 1931 in New York, NY. He is the son of the late Hans and the late Margot (Stang) Dienst. Beloved husband of Joan. Devoted father of Susan Vincello (Richard) and Joseph Smith (Julie). Proud grandfather of 7. Dear brother of Marylou Johnson.
He served in the Army during the Korean War from 1/17/1952 to 10/16/1953 receiving a Combat Infantryman's Badge, Purple Heart, Korean Service Medal W/3 Bronze Stars, and United Nations Service Medal. He was employed by Board Of Education, NYC, NY as a Inspector of Schools.
Visitation hours will be Tuesday, January 12 from 2 - 5 & 7 - 9 pm at Charles J. O'Shea Funeral Homes, Inc., 603 Wantagh Ave., Wantagh, NY.
A Mass of Christian burial to celebrate his life will be held 9:30 am on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at St. Bernard RC Church, 3100 Hempstead Tkp., Levittown, NY with interment to follow in The Good Luck Cemetery, Lanoka Harbor, NJ.
